My payment failed — what should I do?
Most failed payments are a declined or expired card. Update your payment method and the charge will be retried.
Common causes
- The card expired, or the number, expiry or CVC was entered incorrectly
- Insufficient funds at the moment of the charge
- Your bank blocked the transaction as unusual — this is common on first-time online subscriptions and on international charges
- The billing address does not match what your bank holds on file
- A prepaid or virtual card that does not support recurring payments
What to do
- 1Open account settings and update your payment method.
- 2If the card details are correct, contact your bank and ask them to allow the charge.
- 3Try a different card if your bank will not release the block.
- 4Retry the payment from your account settings.
A failed renewal does not delete your account or your work. Your generations and any credits already in your balance are untouched — only the new allocation is withheld until the payment clears.
