What are the rules for using someone’s face or voice?
You need documented written consent from anyone whose likeness or voice you upload or clone. No exceptions, and never for minors.
Any time you upload or attempt to clone a real person’s likeness, name, image or voice, you are representing to us that four things are true.
- You have documented, written consent that is valid in that person’s jurisdiction.
- Your use does not violate publicity, privacy or biometric laws.
- If the person is a minor, you have verifiable parental consent — and if you do not, do not use the feature at all.
- You will honour any revocation of that consent and promptly delete the related assets on request.
This is not boilerplate. Biometric and publicity laws carry real penalties in many jurisdictions, and consent obtained verbally or implied by someone sending you a photo does not meet the standard.
Where this applies
Voice Clone requires an explicit consent confirmation before it will run. But the same requirement applies to uploading a person’s photo to the Image Editor, using their face in Photo Packs, Fashion Try-On or Influencer Studio, or attaching them as a reference for video generation.
Absolutely prohibited
Non-consensual deepfakes, impersonation, and sexually explicit content of real people without written consent are prohibited outright. Any content involving minors in a sexual context is a zero-tolerance violation that will result in immediate action.
